Indian - Go to Rasa which does outstanding Keralan food. Central branch on Dering St just off Oxford St, [/ QUOTE ] I second this place. Great food. Keralan is a region of Indian that we don't get much of in USA and I was delighted at getting a chance to try it. KJS |

Re: London visit advice
[ QUOTE ]
Guys this is great. Thanks so much. Anyone have a Theater recommendation? [/ QUOTE ] I really liked Wicked. Also saw Chicago a couple of years ago. So-so. As for other recs, I really liked doing/ seeing: Camden Town. Regent's Park. Greenwich. Sitting in on Parliament (they were talking about Health Policy, which I suppose is why I really liked it). I kinda like less-touristy fun places to go. Things I didn't really find interesting that I prob should have: London Tower, Westminster Abbey, British Museum (maybe see Rosetta Stone, then leave), Getting lost in Harrod's. Tate Museum was interesting, but most of that stuff, along with other museums can be found anywhere. I kinda wanted to go down the slides there, but was alone, and the lines were really long. I don't know where good, pricey restaurants were as I usually ate pretty damn cheaply. |

Re: London visit advice
Yeah, I'm here now. Staying at a small place in Chelsea called Sydney House.
So far I've seen Winchester Palace (Parliament building), Winchester Abbey, the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms, Buckingham Palace, and the Tower of London. I also saw Buddy, which was really good. And I've done A LOT of just walking around. I'm supposed to be at the British Museum now, but I've already worn myself out and came back to my room for a nap instead. I'm planning on seeing Les Mis tonight. I've only eaten at 3 good restaurants so far, which is a disappointing performance. Mela had great sauces but both the duck and lamb were very dry. A shame considering the tastes. The service was wonderful. I had an early dinner there, and the whole meal took less than 40 minutes, which I appreciate when I'm dining by myself and have things to see. I just had lunch at St. John's. Most interesting place I've ever been. Very greasy, though, which I think is partly to blame for my current want of a nap. I had Veal heart (absolutely amazing), bone marrow and parsley salad (somewhat difficult to eat and greasy as hell, but it tasted good), and deviled lamb kidneys (again, very delicious but extremely rich). The other place I ate was not recommended here, but should have been. Place called Royal China off Baker St. Absolutely the best Dim Sum I've ever had. The honey spare ribs and crispy duck were the particular superstars, but they must have brought us 15 different things, all incredible. |

Re: London visit advice
Sorry about the Mela duck-lamb dryness. I didn't have meat when I was there, and all I remember was the tomato-based sauce and the curry-based sauces were really good for the price.

As for theater shows I just watched the lord of the rings and it's like a top Vegas show, amazing |
