Organ Donation cont'd- Priority List?

Wanted to bounce this idea off you guys- in order to increase organ donations, what do you think about a priority list?

Priority lists already occur, so why not add another variable that gives preferential treatment to those who've signed up to donate their organs when they pass.

OP, I think the main (possibly only) drawback of doing this instead of what we currently do is that it would require a loss of some privacy. Right now, the doctors don't have to know whether I'm an organ donor until I'm dead. If it mattered when I was alive, then someone would have to know, and someone somewhere sometime would possibly use that information in an unethical manner. I don't think it's a dealbreaker, but it's the main argument against your proposal, imo.
