Any M. Ward Fans in OOT?
I've casually followed his music over the past few years - I really started to get into him when he was touring with Conor Oberst (Bright Eyes) and the lead singer from My Morning Jacket.
Based on my limited knowledge of him (and I really like his new album Post-War), I decided to see him in concert last week. Absolutely amazing. He played a solo acoustic set at Town Hall in NYC, a fairly small venue that seats maybe 1000-1500. He played the acoustic, some electric, harmonica and piano, and had the crowd mesmerized. For the fans, a set-list (via postward.com - parentheses are mine): on guitar: Instrumental (f'in amazing) Chinese Translation (very different from album but equally amazing) Paul's Song Fuel for Fire (with harmonica) Requiem Sad Sad Song (with harmonica) Poison Cup Fool Says On piano: O'Brien's Nocturne Carolina Poor Boy, Minor Key Story of an Artist (cool Daniel Johnston tune) Vincent O'Brien on guitar again: Helicopter Switching to a solid body guitar: Spo on ful (old Howlin' Wolf song) back to hollow body guitar: Outta My Head Undertaker O'Brien (Conor Oberst came out and performed this with him) Although he doesn't tour much, I highly recommend seeing him to any of his fans. Re: Any M. Ward Fans in OOT?
I've only had a chance to listen to "Post War" but I love it. My brother has his other stuff and I've been meaning to get it. And "Chinese Translation" is spectacular. He performed it on Lettermen a few months ago.

Saw him at Bonnaroo and was kinda indifferent. But I had just seen Iron and Wine and Ray Lamontagne previously so I might have been a little burnt out on the singer songwriters. Plus I'm guessing a small venue is 10x better to see him then at a festival.
