If it's so gauche of Boras to leak what he did when he did it, isn't it equally gauche of the media not to just ignore it and let it wait until later?

Nobody would have faulted Fox/ESPN for simply keeping the focus on the Sox until the next day. This could have just been a footnote. Yeah it's a d-bag move on Boras's part (but that's how his gangsta works), but it's retarded of Peter Gammons to get all pissy when he could just opt to ignore the damn thing.

I agree with you 100%. If anyone should be blamed for this, it should be ESPN/SI/Fox rather than ARod/Boras.

How could Gammons ignore the whole thing? ESPN didn't break the story, Fox did. If Fox didn't, ESPN would have (without "interrupting the broadcast"), and if not them, someone else, and so on. And Boras, ARod, Gammons, and everyone knows this. So instead of getting asked just about the Sox and Rockies, Gammons is immediately fielding questions about ARod's potential contract and destination. He's got every right to be pissy.
