I watched the postgame for a good half hour or more and was stunned. I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a bunch of players on a big league team who loved each other and their coach so much. Bob Melvin was crying, everyone was celebrating like crazy for the longest time, they were pouring beer and champagne all over each other and the reporters, it was total mayhem. All for merely clinching a playoff spot. It's not that they felt they'd won the world series, they just seemed so perfectly happy together, it was remarkable.

Well yes, I was just pointing out evidence of Webb's ineffectiveness at Coors as being possibly something else other than variance.

Apparently not.

His career ERA in Coors is 4.40, which is probably an ERA+ over 100 in that park. I say this because the Rockies staff has an ERA+ of 109 for the season and their home ERA is 4.40. And Brandon is still a young pitcher, he has all of 12 starts in Coors. So he's pitched decently in Coors, but not as well as he has elsewhere, mostly due to two bad starts early this year (without them his career ERA in Coors is 3.90). Things will average down as he has more games there.

So what do you propose?

Got my playoff tix this a.m. Let's win one more and wrap up the west! Been a fan since inception and while 2001 was sweet, if this rag-tag bunch of kids pulls it off it will be even more satisfying. Let's go!
