Re: The River c/r bluff
I don't mind it if he can fold a hand, especially when he may be banking because he is betting A9 thin. I have no history with him though, and would need enough reasons to do this when the push is a minraise.

Re: The River c/r bluff
I like this play a lot.
1. His bet size looks like a bluff. 2. This is a scary board, so a lot of the times he will bluff at it. 3. Even if he has a hand, such as a set, and is value betting it, you have some fold equity. |

Re: The River c/r bluff
I'm not too fond of it either . You really need him to fold
307/(307+365) ~ 45% of the time . He's getting nice odds to call this with plenty of hands and I doubt he will fold more than 45% of the time . |

Re: The River c/r bluff
No one folds to a checkraise on the river. He is getting good odds and unless he is on a bluff, you won't get him to fold. Don't try to bluff people who fired three barrells even if they are big bluffers. Actually, that's how I make the most of my money. People try to playback at me when I take a very strong line instead of trying to playback in smaller pots when I didn't commit that much of my stack yet and am more ready to fold.

Re: The River c/r bluff
I don't like this at all. Any real hand that 3 barrels isn't going to be bet/folding the river. If think it is a bluff then you can just call because you have showdown value.
The raise doesn't really accomplish anything. |

No one folds to a checkraise on the river. [/ QUOTE ] I disagree with you here. Players who are able to bluff shove or bluff raise thin value bets and get players to fold better hands are the ones who make the most money. |

I make a lot of money from people trying to bluff me in those spots. |

Re: The River c/r bluff
If he folds you probably had the best hand. It's a minraise.

Re: The River c/r bluff
ummm, a) nobody said this player was very good, just aggressive I believe. and seconly, if you think your getting A9 to fold here a large portion of the time because you are representing a big hand I think your mistaken, I mean dont get me wrong, in villians shoes I would prolly have taken a line I could get away from, but his line looks like he has tried (and succeeded) in committing himself, and although you fold out SOME hands beating yours (maybe a hand out kickering yours which I think he hardly EVER plays this way) its basically he is bluffing or he is calling, and I dont think you can justify him 3 barrelling enough here to make this profitable, but I have never played him.
and PS... I expect more from a reg... come on, its poker, suck it up, were all here trying to make $ , so whatever to the hit and run complaint (not me btw) |
