jsnipes post above yours is a good direction to take. another would be to go the "what an adult does in the privacy of their own home, with their own money, should not be legislated by a country's government...etc".

i mean, just be honest. its a [censored] travesty that the govt was able to pass the original anti online gambling bill so fast and easily in the first place.

just be polite, spell correctly and it should be great. the fact that you are contacting them is way more important than what u may write in. thx.

Barney Franks gave a whole long speech about not worrying to be articulate or anything in these letters. It's perfectly fine to just go off on a rant about how important poker is to you and how much you hate the current legislation. (That should make your life easier.)

Also, I want to point out that this isn't just about keeping the games soft/making them softer and making it easier for us to move money around. This is about making our profession/hobby explicitly legal, and more importantly, REGULATED.

i hope people realize that this is important not just because it will make games better, but also because the usurpation of our civil liberties is getting completely out of hand and something needs to be done. the importance of this reaches much farther than poker.
