Good point.

best album?

The Best of Bowie lol. I remember downloading one of his albums and loving two songs and being really bored by the rest, so I just downloaded his Best of album and left it at that. Which is kinda lame, but oh well. Maybe I should give his proper albums another shot.

Jay,

I voted "Best song ever", not because it is, but it's close enough that "[censored] for brains" was not a viable alternative.

Plus, I dedicated this song to my ex on Facebook. (Yes, I had a bit of a time getting over her.)

or Heroes which is what Rolling Stone would probably say. I can see the argument for Low. I also like Ziggy, Hunky Dory and Diamond Dogs (in that order) as well.

I'd recommend a causal fan should buy Changes and get 25 of his best over the years.

edit -- I'm also probably the only person to like Tin Machine. Very heavy album.

4_2_it,

you're probably right about the casual fan. I actually don't have enough Bowie albums proper, but I love Low.

Unknown Soldier,

Any serious appreciation of Dylan has to start with Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde on Blonde. Then go get Blood on the Tracks (a little tougher to get into but very very very good), Bringing it All Back Home, and The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.

Or, you know, depending on what you're into, get them all. Probably the easiest way to get into him if you haven't been before is to go chronologically with those five (Freewheelin, Bringin' It..., Highway 61, Blonde on Blonde, Blood on the Tracks).

interesting choice. speed of life, breaking glass and sound and vision are 3 of my favourite bowie songs, some of the album gets a bit much for me though. guess im not a die hard bowie fan

saw his documentary a while back, really interesting.
