marginal holding in wild games
So I'm sitting at a 3/6 table where 4 people have vpip over 55. Most hands go to showdown, but these guys are paying off river bets with bottom pair, A-high, etc.
I have A7o on the button. UTG (58/5) limps, SB is 44/10 and BB is 90/40. It is pretty safe to assume that if I raise, I'll see the flop 4 ways. So do you raise bc if an A flops you'll likely win a decent sized pot, just call bc either way your going to see a pot multi-way without a hand that plays well multi-way, or just fold and wait for better spots that will definitely come up in these types of games. |

Re: marginal holding in wild games
I raise. Ideally you want both blinds out but if they both call you're getting about even money on your raise and you have position. Getting SB to fold, which will happen some of the time, is also a benefit of raising.

Re: marginal holding in wild games
I would limp. I don't think our equity is that great here and initiative is worthless with a 90/40 guy still to act.

Re: marginal holding in wild games
I suspect all three options are pretty close. Frankly, in a game that good I probably fold and wait for a better spot, but I suspect that I'm probably giving up a little EV.
I make a massive number of mistakes though. |

Re: marginal holding in wild games
Id fold. Our hand plays poorly postflop, and were going to have to put in 2 bets alot because of bb.

Re: marginal holding in wild games
limp. The A and our position give us a chance to win a very nice pot when we flop something. No reason to raise since we don't have enough equity and will never succeed in getting this HU.

Re: marginal holding in wild games
I limp bc of my position, in any other position i'd fold.
