Default World Cup bet question

I know nothing about sports betting. This is for my brother in law, who apparently doesnt know a darn thing either but made a bet at the Wynn.

He bet $100 on France to win.

Since the game was a tie after regulation, is the bet void and he gets a refund?

Or is he out $100 b/c Italy won with PK Shootout?

If he bet "France pk" on the Asian handicap line, then it was a push. Far more likely, however, he bet either for France to win the World Cup, or France to win in regulation on a 3-way line. In these cases, he lost.

This is what it says on the ticket
"$100 Straight Bet"
"8501 France
+120 PLB PICK"

I believe it's a push.

It's a pick 'em line, so the grading depends on the book's policy on extra time.

Because the line was +120, "France to win the WC" makes the most sense to me. I surmise that he loses.

No book was giving +120 on france at the end of regulation, +120 was to win the world cup, pk, OT, regulartime all included. The regulation only line was france at +220 or something like that. He lost.

I agree with you, but it's definitely possible that the bet doesn't include extra time. I'm beginning to be annoyed by the question even being posted, since a 1 minute phone call to the book would answer it.

What does PLB stand for?

IIRC, the 3-way line on France was around +230 and the pick line was 20-30c higher than +120, so I'm thinking he bet "France to win WC" (meaning he lost).
