The Fountain, Fight Club, and Amelie are the ones I listen to. I don't know if I'd say 'best of all time,' but there ya go.

Re: Best Movie Sountracks of All Time
It really depends on what mood I'm in, but when I'm in a mellow chill mood, I tend to listen to the Garden State soundtrack a lot.

How has the Graduate not been mentioned yet. Paul Simon did a killer job on that one. Also, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has a great sound track of mostly classic rock tunes although Perry Cuomo is on there too. Toy Story from Randy Newman was pretty amazing. And I hate to say it but Elton did work on the Lion King.

Re: Best Movie Sountracks of All Time
A couple that haven't been mentioned:
-"The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" this soundtrack is amazing. -"Once". Beautiful. I like "Pulp Fiction" and "Kill Bill Vol. 1" as well, I think Tarantino does a very good job with soundtracks. I like "Amelie" a lot. I like "Requiem for a Dream" too, although it got tiresome after a while. My guilty pleasure is "Queen of the Damned" although I haven't heard it in 3 years (my CD got stolen). |

Re: Best Movie Sountracks of All Time
I agree that Purple Rain should be the winner.
As an honorable mention, how bout The Lost Boys, dated yes, but still a goodie. |
