either donk or c/r the flop depending on the villains. Then the turn becomes much easier to play.

no it isnt, make him pay to draw to his overcards. I don't see how putting money in with an equity advantage is pointless if Villain wont fold the street.

[/ QUOTE ]

youd rather win 1 BB then potentially up to 2.5 BB with a passive line?

not to mention the pot is tiny.

play the hand in a manner that makes you the most money. you dont have to worry about defending your hand when the pot is this small. if hes gonna bet any turn card when you check he's paying for his own draw.

i should also add that you could already be beat and are making it expensive to find out.

c/r flop b/f turn is actually less expensive. Also dont expect him to blindly fire 3 streets with a worse hand. A third point is balancing lines, you can't c/c c/c c/c pairs here if you want to c/r with draws to fold out better nonpaired hands.

Edit: For some reason i thought MP had raised preflop. In an unraised pot i just lead out.

my point is you should take a line that wins the most. of course you balance lines if that is most +EV. of course you use different lines vs different opponents. I just took issue with the point about "charging overcards" in a pot of this size. winning bets is more important than charging weak draws in small pots.

how do we know he's going to bet the turn and not just take an other free card?

That doesnt happen when the villian checks behind on the turn.

But it also doesn't happen when he folds A high on the flop.

I wasnt arguing for either side. i'm on a short poker time-out and I'm trying to keep my brain turned off. Thats why i've banned myself to BBV.

Kit claimed a passive line was better than the flop c/r becuase it won us the most monies. I simply asked what happens if the villian just checks behind. It lets him play the river perfectly against us and doesnt win us the most monies when we're ahead.

I think the best line is to bet out here on the flop, but given that we didn't, I think a passive line is good on the turn. That's true about the turn check-through and that's another reason why being the aggressor here is nice.
