Default NL200 Turned top set - best line for value?

NL200

Hero ($240) dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] in UTG + 1

UTG limps (stack $170)
Hero raises to $10, folds, UTG calls

Pot $23

Flop J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

UTG check, Hero bet $20, UTG calls

Pot $63 - villain has $140 behind

Turn A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain checks (edited)

My plan?

The A isn't really all that great a card for me. Really an action killer against QJs,KJs,JTs,TT,99 limp/calling sorts of hands

betting insures AJ stacks off if a diamond peels off on the river. Same is true to some extent for 88.

checking possibly gets another bet out of 2nd pair hands and gives me a free shot to fill up against an odd turned flush. Depending on the action, it may save me a bet on the river vs a turned flush, but all the money may go in anyway. Depends how grim the river is and the size of the river bet. It gives 2nd pair hands a free shot at hitting 2 pair or a lesser set.

I think there are some arguments for checking, but the thought makes me feel so dirty.

I check the turn behind here, you don't want to bet and get checkraised.

If he checks the river I bet for value, if he bets the river, I call

Wait...does anyone like raise/folding to a 3bet on river if led into?

I check behind here too. I've been getting chased down alot though lately, so it could just be some form of metagame tilt...

Bet $50 and call a shove. If this were like A8, you can check behind. But AA, that's a no no. Flushes are very, very small in UTG's range unless he's passive as hell. Any diamond suited connector has a combo draw and would likely c/raise flop.

Cliff Notes for Turn: Bet moneys --> Get moneys.

The guy us way too short and the pot way to big on the river to fold on all but the grimmest of boards, I think. I ended up betting the turn and calling his shove on a river blank. It was a 65ish call into a $240 pot. My hand is good there more than 1 time in 4. Easy call. He had some goofy, super fishy flush.
