Were you hitting the ball well?

Oh Hell no.

Actually, I thought they had a pretty good feel on the green. I've been trying out all kinds of cheap alternatives the last couple of years...Pinnacle Exception, Nike PowerSoft, D2, Noodle, MC Lady (7.49/doz at Sports Authority, WTF?) and my favorite so far has been the Nike ball.

If I were given the option of either playing a ProV1x (or any other high $ ball),
or playing with a Pinnacle and subtracting 1 shot at the end of the round, I'd play the Pinnacle.
Let me subtract 2 and I'd play with a Pinnacle with a cart path scuff mark on it.

I used to be a HX tour man

I've converted. ProV's are cliche but there's a reason for it

I play ProV's when I get them for free but otherwhise play Precept/Noodle/NXT's etc when I have to pay.

Not much difference between them for me (9 Handicap on a course with soft greens)

Tried a Srixon Zur C today. Went way too high though. Distance was good but hard to control. Had to switch back to the Precept after 6 holes.
