I think you played it fine... up untill the river. Think about it, villain has 77 on the river, do you not think he thinks his hand is best after this action. Best hand = bet from these guys. He could soo easily be vb worse so call.

As played this is a fold for me. You could always bet the turn to get a better idea as to where you are at - say $2, the guy seems pretty tight so he could fold a weaker ace possibly or a smaller PP. I dunno I'd be curious to hear a few more opinions on this myself

There's almost no difference between AK and A2 on the turn.

You raised preflop, and played post flop like those aces scared you.

Cos aces scared you, villan bets close to pot size to pick up a pot you obviously don't want. You need to call the river bet.

I sometimes take your line (against players who bet into weakness) to invoke a river bluff. So I would need to call this river bet with this line and hand.

The more I looked at this the more I realized that river should've been a call. I think bet-folding the turn here is fine too but the only problem is that I fold those low pocket pairs that he may've value bet on the river.

Exactly, I think you made a good check on the turn, unless you think villain will call down with any two cards.

With 3 to the flop I think this is a fold.
