Two things.

I'm pretty sure I saw someone sleeping in the back of a car in the Rio parking lot when I left this morning at 6.

Someone who reeked of B.O. and cigarettes came and sat at our 20/40 limit game at about 4 in the morning. He stayed for about 10 minutes before he realized it wasn't 2/5 NL.
Was that you Larry David? Because I imagine thats what someone who sleeps in the car would smell like.

What about one of the extended stay places?

This one is a bit south of town, and the exterior is cheesy. But the suites look nice enough and it's around $300 a week. With a kitchenette, you can pick up some stuff at the grocery store and save on meals.

I'm cold natured, and freeze in the AC a lot of the time, but the thought of trying to sleep in a car in an LV parking garage in June makes me break into a sweat.

can you give names (links?) to any other cheap/lesser known hotels on the strip or close to the Rio?

Palace Station. I'm staying there next week for $40 bucks a night booked through Travelworm.com. It's about a five minute ride to the Rio.

This thread is pretty fun. Too bad I didn't check the internet in Vegas to update this thread. I just got back from Vegas after staying ~ 2 1/2 weeks. I am still alive... details to come including the 6 different places I stayed while in Vegas.

Goofball, are you Patrick that plays 10/20 NL at Wynn?

You can stay at the Gold Spike for only $22-$35 a night and $35-$60 on weekends.

LD,

Nope. I'm the one that plays 15/30 and 30/60 at Wynn.

I'm pretty sure that if you do your research, you can get a room for $19-$39, either downtown, or at The Orleans, or some motel. Consider that money added equity to your play, as you would surely be in sore shape to play after sleeping in the heat and showering in the sink. Not to mention beat: having your possible table mates interupt your 'shower' cause they have to take a piss.

Actually the Rio would be the worst place to do it. You would at least want to be in the shade in a garage.
