Re: Biggest MICROBALLER!
[ QUOTE ]
In terms of hands I am easily the biggest Microballer, I have just reached 300k hands of 25nl and below. Unfortunately I basically suck so am pretty much break even over those. I play for enjoyment, rakeback and occassionally VPPs on stars. Poker is not about money. Its about having fun. Now I have to go and play some more 25nl. Re: Biggest MICROBALLER!
Can't compete with 7K at 25NL, but might have one of the best BB/100 at 10.8 over 30K hands. 5K at 10NL and the rest split at 25 and 50 NL.

Re: Biggest MICROBALLER!
I made far more money at NL25 than most would think possible. >$20,000.
I wasn't very good at poker, but it didn't matter, playing reasonably tight and putting your money in with good hands won you incredible amounts of buy-ins when I played NL25 (early 2004 to early 2006 on Party). Why didn't I move up? Well I didn't have a huge amount of money, and no real other income, so the proposition of losing a lot of money scared me. I was in college, had no bills to pay, I played it like a video game, not a job. I made very little attempt to get better, as I was crushing the game, but at NL100 and above I struggled until I found 2+2 and later Cardrunners. It seemed like a lot of money to me at the time, since all my college buddies were working part time for $7/hr at their crappy University jobs, and I could make their two week paycheck in a day, even at NL25. I didn't play full time or anything, a few hours a day when it was actually really fun for me. I often went weeks or months without playing simply because I had more fun things to do in my free time. It wasn't until I was 100% out on my own and supporting myself (mid 2006) that I made the decision to really try and get better at poker and stop my half-hearted job search after college. So basically for like 2 years on and off I played for recreation, I was just smart enough to crush the NL25 players with no real study or effort, and that was good enough for me when I had no real expenses. Since I got serious last year, I've moved up at a relatively normal pace. I now regularly play 5/10nl and will play in a 10/20 game if it's good. The whole Frist thing really sucks since I didn't start getting good until right about the time I couldn't play on Party any more. Looking back I so wish I would have gotten serious earlier, I coulda made a killing on Party 5/10 & 10/20nl like so many here did. |
