Default Bratty Kid

I have a two year old daughter who is a complete brat. She screams at the top of her lungs when she doesn't get what she wants or just for the hell of it. She doesn't respond to timeouts or spankings. Its hard to cave to her tantrums but sometimes in a public forum we have to in order to shut her up. Other kids seem so well behaved in comparison. Any experienced suggestions on how to improve her behavior or is it just her personality?

Perhaps I should state that we are taking a plane trip Sunday and that is specifically what I want to go well.

One is probably fine, you can always buy a couple little bottles of bourbon on the plane if she's still being feisty.

I generally hate parents who don't control their kids. Not you. You are obviously trying to do something about it which is more than most. It won't help you in time for your upcoming plane trip, but in the long run, I think it's pretty important to NEVER reward her tantrums with anything.
