zomg i called 2 bets on the turn with a frush draw and OESD
i got berated for this by Big Eric, who likes to criticize my play because he thinks i'm terrible.
anyways its a full live 10 game. there are 3 limpers, Sober Swami completes the SB, and I knuckle with 6c7c. the flop is A55 two clubs. It checks to the last limper (OTB) who bets, Sober Swami CR's from the SB, I call, limper calls (others have folded). Turn 8d giving me an OESD to go along with my FD. Sober Swami suddenly checks. I brainfart and bet for no reason (yes this is bad and I hated it the second I did it) and the button raises. He has 1 BB left before he's all-in. Sober Swami then check 3 bets! I call 2 cold, and the BB calls all in. Berate me if I suck. oh, i should mention reads: Sober Swami is a fit or foldish TAG button limper is a decent playing TAG who's stuck and frustrated neither have been playing at all tricky. |

Re: zomg i called 2 bets on the turn with a frush draw and OESD
So on the flop you're immediately getting 8:2 with button and others still to call? I think that's an easy call cuz I've very rarely seen two opponents checkraise on the same street...
On turn, I think you're now getting 9.5:2 with limper calling and no chance of raising. Even discounting a few outs for making a fullhouse, still an easy call, no? BTW: Does anyone just lead the flop and hope to take it down right now? And in cases where this gets it heads up against weak opponents I find there are lottsa times you can bet the villain off their hand by firing again on the turn (and yet still have outs if they are stubborn). Re: zomg i called 2 bets on the turn with a frush draw and OESD
I see nothing wrong with calling 2 cold on the flop. If I am counting bets right, you are getting about 6.5:1 with two cards to come.
If I understand the action right, you are getting about 7:1 on your turn cold call. Whether you call this I think is read dependent. Check raising both the flop and turn is a weird line, and check 3 betting is even weirder. If Sober Swami is a non-tricky fit or fold tag, does that mean he flopped a boat? Is this how he would try to extract the maximum value from it or could he be doing this as a semi-bluff with some much weaker holding like trip fives or two pair (small pocket pair). Based on the “non-tricky fit or fold” tag description, my feeling is a semi-bluff is unlikely here and a fold would be best, but I have rarely seen a line close to this, and when I have it was from a LAG or maniac, not a TAG. |

Call on turn, but don't put much bets in on the river if you make your flush/straight.

this is a good spot to lead the flop. Youd be surprised how often you take it down and you dont get raised all that often.
