300 now, doing sets of 10 every few minutes. Just ate 3 advils.

lol at people thinking the right approach is to do your max sets.

and rotflmao at all you claiming you can do >50 push ups in a row. its not a push up unless your chest (not your lard filled stomach) hits the ground.

I think you answered your own question right here. 1000 pushups in 24 hours is really difficult unless you are very fit and/or have trained a good deal for this bet.
