AQo from MP1
Is the flop just a call?

Re: AQo from MP1
I think I'd have check-raised the flop instead of donking into the CO, and then called down all the way if he'd 3-bet.
Otherwise it looks like a good play. |

Re: AQo from MP1
Why did you donk the flop? Check-raise and call down against a guy this aggressive.

Re: AQo from MP1
I have to watch my donking.. I can see now that he surely would have bet into me.
I just see two suited cards and bet.. I need to start looking beyond that .. thanks. |

:g:
I'm checkraising the flop. For the most part I can be pretty certain my opponent is going to C-bet given his preflop aggression. If he is a passive player who will check behind maybe not, but even then you can confidently bet out on a good turn. And if your opponent 3-bets you can just call his 3-bet and check call to the river UI. |

Re: AQo from MP1
Agree the better play is check-raise flop and call down a 3 bet, but as played can't we find a fold on the turn? We're getting 12-2 implied, and what do we beat? Villain 3 bet PF and raised and capped the flop. The only thing we beat is an overplayed 99 or JJ, maybe a chop with AQ. On the flop it could have been broadway clubs, but we fell behind that on the turn. I really doubt we're good 1 in 6 here.

Re: AQo from MP1
I think I check raise the flop, and would call a 3 bet.
If he 3 bet the flop, I would check/call the turn, paying off if he played his draw aggressively (AcKc for example) but I would bet / fold this river. However, if he only called my flop check raise, I would lead the turn, and call any raise. Again I think I would b/f river as I think too many of his likely holdings are now good. One further Question, Why do people insist on saying 38/17/1.48 from 47 is a read, I find that lazy. I hope you made a note on what he had here and how he played it, so that in future you know if you can push back against someone playing a draw strongly on the flop or know that he would only be betting this with say a flopped set / two pair. Re: AQo from MP1
CRing a showdown type hand hand on the flop like TP against lags and maniacs is my new favourite hobby. these guys love to screw with you so when you get a chance to screw with them, do it. seriously.

Re: AQo from MP1
grunching... if you had donked first on the flop, I would only call his raise, and go to call down mode with top split pair. Since he 3-bet on the preflop, he's possible range is AK,AQs,JJ-AA,
