This can keep you occupied indefinitely, some of the funniest stuff on the web imo.

Also, I tend to stalkerishly scan AIM profiles and click back and forth between solitaire and my browser.

I just read the AIM away messages and profiles of the people on my buddy list, to see what they're up to. "Stalkerishly" was a bit of an exaggeration I guess.

I'm thinking I want to start broadening my mindless internet surfing horizons.

Here are a few I enjoy checking a few times a month or so.

The Straight Dope - A trivia/obscure knowlege column that appears in the Chicago Reader - http://www.straightdope.com/index.html

Getting Things Done Forum at David Allen Company - GTD is my favorite personal time-management system - http://www.davidco.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=5

How Stuff Works - Lots of cool articles about science and other interesting stuff. Recently the site has started to feel too commercial to me, but the archived articles are still great. www.HowStuffWorks.com

Nat Arem's blog I think has the most extensive list of decent poker blogs, also Shaniacs too (shaniaconline.blogspot.com)

http://www.kottke.org/ is the best personal blog I've seen. Also, sites like Digg and Fark as well as regular news sites.
