I still strongly, strongly associate this game with those of the vaginal persuasion.

yes, the only time i've ever played flipcup was before a football game with our girl's softball team. i'd have to say it did a pretty damn good job of getting me [censored]-faced though, I was passed out in some stranger's bed before kickoff.

I like to play Ship It
Two player game, there's a communal mug in the middle that can hold up to say 20oz. This game works best with beer or else you'll get drunk too quickly. You both get a shot glass and your own supply of beer.

First off each person puts one shot of beer into the mug. Each person gets two cards face down (you're allowed to look). Let's call these people Player A and Player B. Let's say Player A is dealing. Now, player B has the option, if he thinks his cards are better than player A's cards, to put an additional shot of beer in, or he can choose to decline to put in a shot. If player B put in a shot, player A can surrender, whereupon he drinks all the beer in the middle; he can continue, whereupon he also puts one shot in, or he can dare, whereupon he puts in TWO shots.

If he surrenders, the current round is over. If he dares, player B has the same options - he can surrender, continue, or re-dare. A maximum of 3 dares per round. The previous stuff is called an 'action turn'.

Upon continuing, three cards are dealt face up in the middle. An action turn occurs. One more card is dealt face up. An action turn occurs, except now, now the action occurs in double shots, not single shots as before. A final card is dealt face up, and another action turn occurs with double shots.

At the end, called the 'declaration', both people turn over their cards. The person who has made the highest five card hand according to standard hand rankings wins. Any five out of the seven total cards can be used. The loser has to drink everything in the mug.

If there is a tie, feed the beer to a large dog.

If you can stomach malt liquor, Edward Fortyhands definitely delivers. Everyone looks like complete knobs and it makes for great picture taking (and getting wasted cheap).

This is probably for the younger crowd but still something every boozer should try at least once.

When we really were in the mood to yell and drink we played Trivial Drink in college which was basically someone reading questions and you drank if you missed one. Lots of yelling and drinking so it may have been a prop.

One from grade school (the game, not the added drinking) that might please the a mathier geeks is Bizz Buzz. You start counting and if the number is a multiple of 3 you say bizz instead of the number, 7 you say buzz, 3 and 7 bizz-buzz. Miss and you drink. Starts a little slow...

Best drinking game I've played: Landmines

Get a circular table (not too big unless you have [censored] load of people) and you need a quarter and a communal cup.

Basically you fill up the cup maybe a quarter of your beer and spin the quarter, you have to chug the cup before it falls. If the quarter stops spinning or falls off before you finish you have to go again.

The kicker is, whenever someones beer can gets empty they can slam it down on your spin, so you have to go again. After a few rounds the table gets covered in "landmines" making it more difficult to chug before the quarter stops, and aim becomes more important.

Zoom-Schwartz.

A verbal/eye contact drinking game, with only a few basic rules. Set up a table with ideally 4-6 people spaced out fairly evenly. One player begins the game by looking at a player and saying "Zoom". The player who got 'zoomed' now has 3 options:

He may:

Zoom another player (looks at another player and says "Zoom")

Schwartz another player (says "Schwartz" which returns the burden of action on the player who said the last command)

Profigliano [pro-fig-lee-ah-nu] another player (gives the action to the player to that person's left)

There are some other rules:

1. You may not immediately 'zoom' someone who just zoomed you.

2. Every game must be started out with a 'zoom'.

3. Verbal declarations must be reasonably quick (1-3 seconds depending on the experience of the players)

4. The losing player of the last round begins the next round.

Players who give incorrect commands, speak out of turn, or not quickly enough must drink.

Also, many 'bluffs' can be used, such as looking at a player and saying "schwartz" or "profigliano", or pretending to speak out of turn while looking at a player.

This game has the advantage of a very quick pace and can be played basically anywhere.

Last night I played UP CHICKENS/DOWN CHICKENS for the first time and it was fun for about 30 mins.

Two teams of 4-5 people sit facing each other. Team 1 will hide a quarter in one of their hands and place their fists on the table to let team 2 examine to see if there are any tells that might tip off who has it. Someone on team 2 then says "up chickens" and everyone on team 1 will raise their hands in the air. Team 2 then examines again, and eventually someone on team 2 yells "down chickens." At this point, team 1 must try to slam their hands down in unison to mask the sound the quarter makes against the table.

Now team 2 deliberates and chooses the hands they DON'T think the quarter is in. If team 2 can take away every hand without exposing the quarter, team 1 must drink for every hand on the table. If team 2 exposes the quarter before all the hands are up, they must drink however many hands are left on the table.

Beeramid. 4-10 players.

Each player gets 4-5 cards face Down, you may only look at them once before the game starts.

Arrange a pyramid thusly:
Card
Card Card
Card Card Card
Card Card Card Card [all face down.]

First card is 1 drink, 2nd row is 2, 3rd row is 3, 4th row is 4 drinks.

If you have a King, and King is flipped up in the Pyramid, you get to tell anyone to drink that # of drinks [1-4]. They may comply, or call [censored].

If you were [censored], you drink double. If you have it, you flip it over, they drink double, turn your King face down again [people will forget, hilariously.]

If you have 2 Kings, you can make them drink 2x as much or 2 different people. Same penalties for [censored].

If you flip over the wrong card when challenged, you still drink 2x.

Of course, you may [censored] anyone at any time.

Variant: You may also 'predict' the next card that will be turned over. I.e you have a 7,6,5,4 and you're down to the last card and none of them are out. You may order someone to drink 4x. They will likely challenge, flip the final card over and see if you have it. Obvs they/you drink 2bl if wrong.

This is the best card game as it involves making people drink, lying through your teeth and BSing, and the 2bl penalty, plus penalty for forgetting where your card is exactly and you can play with like 8-10 people easy.

Once most people are drunk, the game becomes very hard and very funny. An Ace will turn over and 4 people will claim they have one. But who's lying? Etc.

Grunching...

Flip cup is the best game for big-teams.

My other favorite game used to be called "Chandelier", but it probably goes by different names.

Start by standing or sitting around a table in a circle. Put one big tall glass in the middle, then one cup in front of each player.

Looks like this:
o o o
o O o
o o o

Each small cup is filled with about 1/4 beer, and the big cup is a 1/2-a full beer (use whatever you like).

You take turns with a quarter, and try to bounce it into an opponents cup. If it lands in a player's cup, that person drinks. If it lands in the big cup by accident (or on purpose), everyone must chug their 1/4 beer. The last person to slam their cup back down on the table has to finish the full beer in the middle.

Rinse and repeat.

It's really fun, and not as bad as it sounds because it doesn't end up in the big cup tooooo often.
