Default Response from Senator Bill Nelson

This seems to have a promising tone:

Thank you for contacting me regarding online gambling. Your thoughts are important to me.

While many Internet gambling operations already are banned by Federal law, many are located overseas and are beyond the reach of U.S. authorities. Legislation has been introduced in the House of Representatives that aims to regulate this industry.

The Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act of 2007 (H.R. 2046) would establish an Internet Gambling Licensing Program and create requirements for the licensing of Internet betting or wagering. This bill has been referred to the House Committees on Financial Services and Energy and Commerce. There is no companion bill in the Senate.

Should this issue come before the full Senate, I will keep your views in mind. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.
