bones,

if he played 100 games, put up a 10% roi, what do i care if he was running hot? obviously it's great advertisement and whatever to say he was crushing the games. it's amusing that he would quit school or whatever it is he did with smallish total winnings, but i can understand why he would market himself as having been a crusher in the games. if what we're going to do is argue semantics, i don't care at all. (this isn't really a response to you, so much as a reply following your post.)

i think it has been shown repeatedly that collin has fundamental flaws in his thinking about sit and go situations, and that he frequently comes to incorrect conclusions. he's going to get a lot of respect from the crowd because his name is blue and he has a book, and personally i find that somewhat unfortunate, because many of the regular posters in this forum have demonstrated a superior understanding of game concepts to his.

time will tell about all of this, of course. but at the moment i'm totally unconvinced about collin's prowess, and fairly ticked about the whole situation.

Sorry to hear that, they say when you hit 50 there is not much you can do about that... thank god I've got 2 or 3 years left, damn.. I don't even know when I'm going to hit 50?

Not everyone can beat the 200s for reasonable money. His advice about making a career out of sngs and moving up stakes is suspect because I don't think he understands the state of the games today.

[/ QUOTE ]

Technically all books are obsolete once they hit the shelves, because the advice was actually written 6 months prior. If it's not obsolete, it's coincidentally still true, or just very fundamental.

And those posters, by the way, were NOT the ones who were whining about 2+2 publishing a SnG book without the STTF blessing.

Jack,

False. Also, no one is "whining" about anything happening without a "STTF blessing", numerous people have just pointed out the humor in 2p2 releasing a book on STTs, with simple access to most of the best STT players in the world, and never asking a one of them to read over the text.
