EPiPeN11, I think you can try minraise in SB.

I think he is much much more likley to commit a lot of chips by bluffing or value betting with a worse hand if I limp than if I minraise or raise him considering the history.

limp reraise to 140. Once you see that flop it doesn't matter what you do as long as you don't fold.

[ QUOTE ]
5/10 NL, full ring:
Everytime I have limped in the sb (everyone else folding) he has raised me 4x bb to 40. He did this 3-4 straight times, and I folded each time.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like he is exploiting you. Why not limp reraise since you'll be oop? Of course if you limp reraise, and he reraises, it's a sticky situation since he has been bullying you somewhat when you limp, and he knows this.

So did you suckout on the river? Or did his flopped 2 pair hold? Just guessing his holding, since a lot of people take his line when c/r on a drawy board.

I wouldn't call it exploiting as you can't really exploit someone for a blind unless they always limp/fold imo, more like trying to bully/frustrated over previous hands vs me.

I didn't limp/re-raise for a bunch of reasons that I really don't feel like explaining.

Ok here is the rest of the hand:

*** RIVER *** [7s 3d 9d Ac] [8d]
*** SHOW DOWN ***
EPiPeN11: shows [Ad Qd] (a flush, Ace high)
DooMeRFD: mucks hand
EPiPeN11 collected $1925 from pot
*** SUMMARY ***
Total pot $1928 | Rake $3
Board [7s 3d 9d Ac 8d]
Seat 1: maserati007 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 2: venkanto (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 3: EPiPeN11 (small blind) showed [Ad Qd] and won ($1925) with a flush, Ace high
Seat 4: DooMeRFD (big blind) mucked [8s 6d]
Seat 6: gonzal63 folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 7: RaSZi folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 8: BinaryFinary folded before Flop (didn't bet)
Seat 9: FZIEN folded before Flop (didn't bet)

He had 86 for an open ended straight draw and didn't hit, and I hit my flush for good measure.

For the people who hate preflop and didn't say why they hate it, I assume you wanted me to limp re-raise right?

[/ QUOTE ]
Why not just raise the first time?

I think limp-call forces you to c/f a lot of bad flops.

I guess open-limping is not part of my game. I'm not saying that's good or bad, just that I don't do it.

def. LRR preflop vs him, hes aggro/tilty enough to shove worse hands as bluffs and TT-JJ for value as well so you have to call call a shove pre, especially with the history you gave. postflop is good/std

LRR because he auto-raises preflop. So we'll take it down like 80% without contest. Also, given his image, he'll call worse/coinflip hands. Then we get to c-bet and put him to a stack decision. AND we have a ton of outs (preflop that is). Any A,Q, or two-diamonds is gonna be the nuts against his frustrated shoving range.

IMO open limping SB in full ring isn't terrible against the right opponent (clearly Villain in this hand isn't the right opponent unless you plan on LRRing). A lot of opps just don't give a sh*t about unraised so they just muck everything outside of TPGK+. But the same opps will fight for raised like it was there infant child. In these cases, I think it's okay to complete.

limp pre seems basically pointless.
