The last two Yanks @ O's games I have watched... the Yankees have had 0 runs. The one before last night was when Loewen pitched a CG 1 H SO last year.

Let's hope tonight they can score some runs. The last time I've seen the Yanks win in person was against Schilling and the BoSox last year. Every game I've been to since then? Loss.

hah - waaay too much time left in the season for that. plus clemens could get hurt before 10 starts and miss the rest of the year, which means no one pays anyone.

i will consider settling after 10 starts but not before.

What you're failing to recognize is that you vastly over estimate your ability to recognize things other people haven't considered and the relevance of said considerations to the point they are choosing to make.

Also, your reification of forecasts ("absurdly under performing expectation") is cute. (This is distinct from feeling confident in your decision making process after a careful review of it even when faced with failure.)

andy has been absent from this thread when the yankees are doing well, but he stops by to post about how bad these players are. his conclusion is that they are awful, but i choose to consider that they are simply getting the awful side of variance - kind of a reverse of 2005 when they luckboxed into the playoffs.

if i could come up with some good terms, i'd be willing to bet not only that cano, damon, and abreu outperform their 1st half starts, but that all three players have a better season next season. they are not bad hitters, and their declines should not be so precipitous.
