Best site for stud other than stars and party?
As Party is no more, and word is that Stars may soon vanish to US players, it looks like there are three options: Ultimate Bet, Full Tilt, and Paradise. Anyone play on these sites or have any preference?
Thanks, Paul |

Re: Best site for stud other than stars and party?
UB doesnt have a lot of action above 2/4
Full Tilt I has action at 2/4 and 3/6 most of the time and some 5/10 and 8 /16 on some nights, esp if Sexton is around. See some 15/30 HU going everyonce in a while. Have also seen the 1k/2k go. Pokerroom has a lot of low limit tables, usually 4 or 5 at .50/1 and 1/2 and then a couple 2/4 and a couple 4/8. Not hard to get a 6/12 and 10/20 game going if you want one, but usually there is already one going. Highest limit is 25/50 which runs occasionally |

First, party is still working fine until.....
Second, if one goes, you should expect them all to be go. |

Second, if one goes, you should expect them all to be go. I've actually been following this closely as I write for pokermagazine.com, so I've been reading as much as I can on it. It looks like Party is shutting down soon to all US players. Gambling911 speculates Stars might; but who knows. 888 is of course gone. Paradise issued a statement saying they weren't going anywhere; same with AbsolutePoker and UB. Full Tilt was still evaluating it. I actually got up and going on Paradise; basically I'm looking for LL stud and stud 8, though I play a lot of LLHE too. Paradise I played years ago for fun, and then have played almost exclusively on Stars for a few years. I hope they don't shut down to US accounts, but frankly I wouldn't at all be surprised if they do. Paul |

Paradise does have some pretty decent stud games in my experience, especially since they got rid of most of the half-bet bring-ins.

Yep, I downloaded Paradise and am up and running. Seems pretty nice; I like the site, though Stars is still my favorite. I've been following the rumors and it'll be interesting to see what happens. I wouldn't be suprrised if they hold it out as they said checks were OK, and banks can't be held liable, and furthermore it doesn't ammend the wire act. There's also the story about Party selling out so they could take the money and run and be bought out by Lad Brokes. But that's for the legislation forum. Bascially I'm looking for small stakes stud/stud 8, and Paradise seems just fine. Thanks Andy, Paul |

Re: Best site for stud other than stars and party?
I haven't been following the hubbub all that closely, but it looks to me like there won't be anything to prevent me from playing poker on the internet, per se. It might take four steps instead of two to get my money onto a site, and I might have to wait weeks instead of days to cash out, but I'll still be able to play. Poker has never really been about the money for me anyway.

poker is only about money, otherwise why not play on free site? waiting weeks to cash out doesn't sound like a great deal for most.
