variance: idi the nigerian finally picks up a W

when i'm not at school, from time to time i help my parents out at their store. sometimes people come by to do western union transactions (for those who don't know, it's a way to send money to people in like, 10 minutes-slightly quicker than a PS transfer, infinitely more expensive).

anyway, someone comes in to send 4k to nigeria. since it's a busy day so far i don't really put too much thought into it.

i have him sign the reciept after i send it and he starts talking about how this investment is gonna make him a millionaire.

"oh yeah?"
"yeah, this guy needs to move out a few million from nigeria but can't, so i'm sending him this money as a token of good faith or some [censored], and he's gonna send me back a couple of million."
".....................you realize this is a scam, right?"
"no it isn't"
"yes it is"
"[censored], you're just jealous that you didn't think of this first."
"no i'm not, seriously, i should cancel this transaction for you."

"DON'T YOU [censored] DARE! IF YOU BLOW THIS FOR ME I'LL COME BACK HERE AND HURT YOU!"

sigh "ok, fine."


i keep forgetting scams like this persist because there are people whose brains have been replaced by cornuts
