Solid regulars not playing each other...um that doesn't really sound like a bot, that just sounds like good game selection.

It's not like the bots in the Zoo thread where they are 18-tabling a 9-handed table and noone was playing each other.

I don't think that is proof of anything.

These 6 have never played each other for one hand, but every one of them has played The Bryce who destroys those games. At least two of them have played John D'Agostino.

It's more than that though. How many opponents have to think pretty hard every time before calling a preflop cap after 3betting?

I'm not saying you don't have a case, I'm saying that that particular piece of evidence isn't very damning.

Good thread, gehrig. I was wondering about this myself.

I haven't played any of these guys but BeatMe1 definitely never occured to me as being a bot. I've watched all these other guys play and never saw anything that caught my eye as being suspicious.

I also wondered what happened to lip2lip. Weird for a big winner to all the sudden disappear.

Also, it looks like mcnair is gone for good after being exposed for using a bot.

Any possiblity JapInTheSack is a bot?

Finally, I think if CrazyMike is going to make public accusations against players he definitely needs to give the rationale behind them.

Edit: Also, if someone is always sitting by his computer while his bot is playing (and might even take over for brief stretches) it's goona be almost impossible to "prove" it. Even if some/all of these are using automated play I'm not sure anything can be done.

Hardly any humans play that style... Gator has accused me of being a bot on several occasions... but I think he's correct on these guys just at a glance.

Are you referring to the inordinately high WSD?

i've played with FlopBeNice several times over the past couple days and he did not seem v good at all, though i don't recall him ever typing in anything in the chat and i can't say for certain but for a HU player, i think his timing might have been a tad slow.

I think the WSD is one of the main things that makes these guys suspicious. I think it's a lot more feasible to see this high WSD through an automated system where I bet you'd get to showdown a lot more with A/K/Q high and 4th/5th pair. Many of those ultra-weak showdownable hands will be harder for a thinking human to rationalize. That's my guess anyway.

Also, this was one of the reasons I asked about JapInTheSack. I would sweat one of my friends who used to play him a bunch and he would just marvel at the number of the times Jap showed down K/Q high in seemingly hopeless situations.

In part, yes; for the reasons you mention below.
