id say once he flatcalls or shoves our c/r were toast. no draws (cmon, hes NOT doing this with 89s) and hed be insane to get it in with TT here.

maybe a raise on this board vs a good oponent is a set like... 80% of the time?
edit: how can you flatcall a shove, denz?

[/ QUOTE ]

You said if you were villain and had a set you d flat call a c/rai from hero...i just wanted to add that it probably makes not much of a difference wether you flat call oder push the flop in villains seat since both plays look extremely strong considering stack sizes.

allright then we agree that c/r is to make villain fold worse and call/shove with better hands?

checking flop is not bad. now that you've checked i would call. if you c/red to 350 though u could fold to a push

[/ QUOTE ]

This strikes me as a terrible idea especially as we took a really strange line.

I doubt you would fail to go broke here if you were 1000BBs deep

Yeah, thats why I don't like a c/r to any amount here. I think c/c is much better. Of course, I think betting this flop would have been best though.

Suppose we lead the flop and are raised. What is the plan then? For flat calling tips our hand precisely while shoving is very unlikely to be called by worse, and this is a pretty undesirable situation this deep.

it still doesnt strike me why bet/folding is not - by far - the best option here. its not like ppl are getting fancy on totally dry boards with A7s or 99.

B/folding is probably best against a lot of opponents but so damn exploitable.

Agree entirely with this. Probably the biggest problem is that our range is basically {air, overpairs} given the preflop action and so since we have to let go of air regardless not felting the overpairs either seems horrific.
