Default Cost a month

My parents are going to be giving me money monthly and I was wondering about how much the avg. college kid spends a month. I'm living in the dorms so I don't have to pay any of kind of cost like that either.

Thanks

This doesn't depend entirely upon where you go to school and what you like to do or anything silly like that.

it's heavily dependent on what you do socially...are you going to drink, eat out, use taxis/trains, etc.

Ask them for more money than you think you'll need and keep a spend diary for the first couple of months, take an average and voila

You can probably safely factor in 2x a week social events (bars? clubs? etc), snacks, and supplies every now and then. Thbrow in $15-$20 a week for gas if you have a car. I doubt you'd need more than $100, $125 weekly.

I blow through $100+ in a single night at the bar regularly without even realizing I did it until the next morning.
