A "do I owe my friend this money" thread, slightly atypical

I disagree with the replies that I have skimmed:

Room: There is a hotel room that 6 guys stayed in. You want it to be split 5 ways? Pay the room. If you want a cheeper room or if you want a bed then take care of arrangements yourself.

Dinner: You went out to dinner as a group. You are adults. It should be assumed that you are not going to nit up the bill and everyone will just pay 10%. If you can't afford that then you should have asked the server for a separate check. You didn't do that. Pay the piper.
