Default Datamining STARS and CRYPTO

Is it possible to datamine tables on PokerStars and Cryptologic sites? And how if it is?

Stars does not allow datamining and will close your account if they find out.

No sure about Crypto.

what exactly is datamining? isnt it just to open the tables and pokertracker imports hands? how can pokerstars see that you are datamining?

im lost..

In relation to online poker, it refers to an effort to monitor poker games and record them without playing (ie, mine for data).

In relation to the rest of the world, it refers to efforts to analyse data that you already have (ie, mine the data).

Most clients no longer record the hand histories when you are not sitting at the table. Thus, programs (such as iWitness/FPHG, Idleminer, and presumably others) have to do two parts - open the tables (and keep relevant tables open) and then record the action.

The solutions to both problems depend on the various poker clients.

Connecting to pokerstars obviously requires that you connect to their servers. That's a pretty obvious way they can see that you are datamining.
