Default How long before you started winning?

I have played 15721 hands this month. This are my first hands ever. I am playing 05/10 at party.
I am braking even. Finishing reading SSHE while playing 2tables.

Now the question is am I wasting the opportunity to make some $ on bonuses? Cause I started of with $10 just to see how things go and had no need for more.

But than again I would have made some cash by now working on some bonus?
How different are the 05/10 from say 1/2?
Any advise appreciated.

you shouldn't be playing anywhere that doesn't have a bonus.

Full Tilt Poker offers many bonus options. You should be able to get between $100-$300 in bonuses if you have a bonus code. Otherwise it's a $50 bonus for every deposit you make. You can also accumulate Full Tilt Points in which you can buy merchandise.

The lowest stakes that FTP has is $0.25/$0.50 limit. There are a lot of differences between the micro and small stakes. If you are playing $1/$2 limit or $2/$4 limit, should get you your bonus money pretty quickly.

doesnt full tilt have 100% signup to $600?
use bonuswhores.com , seriously

the games get a lot harder as you move up from .05/.1 . if i were you i wouldn't jump to 1/2 right away until you are beating a lower limit.

[/ QUOTE ]Last month, I started teaching a guy who had never played a hand of poker in his life and he started at .05/.10 and he is now slightly better than break even at 2/4-3/6 (he plays about 1k hands a day learning). So, we got to watch the quality of play across all the micro levels. There seems to be a BIG quality leap from .05/.1 to 1/2. 1/2 is still pretty soft, but you don't get to see the big family pots and all the calling stations. If you have played 15k hands at .05/.10 and you are only break even then you need to do a serious review of your game. 15K is not a ton of hands, but I couldn't imagine a winning player being break even after 15K hands at .05/1.

You're considering jumping to 20x the stakes you play now? What ever happened to taking shots at twice the stakes? lol...

Move up slowly, if you're only break-even you're doing something wrong. What are your stats?

wow 15721 in a month 2 tabling ... sounds like you didn't get much else done this month (lol)

to answer question: always play with a bonus and rake back (I didn't learn about this aspect of online play untill well into my playing life - March 2006 I was a total noob too)

answer two ... if you can't beat 5c/10c game after 15K - don't think about moving up (you'll get killed)

FYI ... you should be posting in the MICRO forum (just below small stakes)
