Why call flop raise if you don't want to get it in on a blank turn?

[/ QUOTE ]

Read the whole post? That was the plan, but i froze on the turn when i started to think about his range on this board, and the fact that he was leaving. At the time he's hand just started to feel rather strong.

Wow guys, the moaning is really getting out of hand. Come on. It's a very -EV mindset to get in to IMO.

.................

Both villains reg 23/10/2 types - sooooooo many of these guys at my network it's amazing. Both slightly short of 100BB. Hero is playing good, solid TAG poker. I doubt they take me for a monkey or maniac.

Anyway, just get the hell out? Or push it? I folded and there was no SD, so I don't know what they had. I think a fold is good, if for no other reason than it's a low-variance move which is something I'm into at the moment at 50NL.

Meleader, you aren't adjusting well. You need to focus more on value betting and not so much on marginal spots.

I really dont like this raise on the flop. You made a really good read but your raise puts you in all kinds of drama given that you are OOP and you are multiway. Given that you are OOP I would MUCH rather lead. I have taken to leading from OOP just because you are at such a huge disadvantage for the rest of the hand. Given that you are very marginal I would be thinking about how many BB I would want to throw at this hand, my answer being "not many". For that reason I would NOT raise here.

My line would be lead, re-evaluate, and be ready to dump. I would even consider just checkfolding here, there's really no good way to play such a marginal hand OOP on this board, especially multiway. You should definitely have folded the turn, I don't know what you are hoping to achieve there.

Here's a lesson to learn today - "pair plus flushdraw is almost never as strong as you think it is". Think of the hands that he is willing to stack off with here, in a LIMPED pot. You will never have much more than 40 - 45% equity. If thats how you roll then thats okay but I don't like to stack off that light.

Board: 3h 4h 7s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied

What makes you think you have any FE here? Remember, right now you have KING HIGH and you have only one card to come. It is true that NL100 is a calling station heaven so do NOT get into the habit of doubling your draws! Sure you picked up some outs on the turn but the club draw counterfiets a couple of them anyway, and I don't know if you had a read but he has to be pretty tight to fold a Jack or a two pair in my experience. He's giving you a shot at a free card - take it! If he has a lower FD then you are basically freerolling him with your King anyway. Don't like this double here.

This is pretty dirty. I hate your flop call. What do you beat on the flop? AK and nothing more. You cant flat call preflop and call the flop, because if you think there was a chance you were behind preflop, you're still behind now. If you thought you were ahead preflop, you should have 4bet, or shoved over on the flop. Do you see what I mean? Its like "preflop - I think Im behind so I flat call, because I need to flop a set. flop - I missed my set so therefore im still behind... so I put $22 in??" This is a RIO nightmare. I personally would rather 4bet this preflop and call a shove than play it this way. If you want to play like this then you have to shove the river because you are never ahead here and your only shot to win is to rep AK. I think you were lucky to get to SD to be honest.

God this is so dirty. Do NOT do this out of position. This again is a reverse implied odds disaster. It doesnt matter that you won here, your equity in this pot is minimal and you have next to no showdown value. I really dislike your river call because your hand is a bluffcatcher. I'll do this against hugely moronic players who I have a tight read on only. Your hand is a bluff and for that reason I would much rather bet the turn, but being OOP makes this so much more difficult. I think you leak from OOP, you need to look at this more. Just flop your set or get out.

Seems okay.

You've got some leaks but its nothing you cant fix. You can't get away with basic problems like playing OOP and making loose calls like you could at 50nl. From looking at these hands you need to think about two main things, reverse implied odds and position.

Stick with it. Its a bitch at the beginning and Im going through the same dramas.
