I said it in March. I said it in April. I said it in May. I said it in June. I said it in July. And I said it in August.

But this time, I really mean it.

September will be the breakthrough month from mediocrity to excellence! Bring it.

Ok so I didn't play a lot in august (5k hands or so, and lost $200).

Then today it went okish up about $50, when this hand comes along:

Co ($90) raises to $4, I ($160) reraise to $14 with KK (have been doing this a lot to the CO), all of a sudden the BB ($110) 15/9 over 100hands reraises allin.

Now I was pretty sure he must have aces right? But then I thought about what people say on these forums about never folding kings unless it's a 200+ bb pot. Well so I called, and ofcourse aces came along setting me back for the day again. And I lost another $100 later on with a straight vs a flush. So yeah september isn't treating me that good.

I am planning to play a lot this weekend though, so things might turn around. And yes I am going to fold aces against nits next time...

Sup uNL. I'll be joining you for a while. I moved up to SSNL somewhere in april-may but due to a recent major downswing I'm now gonna grind NL50 on FTP for a while.

Had my first 10k breakeven stretch which was pretty weird to experience but good for the learning curve, obviously that was followed by running hotttt

All 10nl, 25 buyins in 5.5k hands was nice

Just having a quick look at 2p2 while I am in Paris - BTW does anyone read the 2p2 online magazine? I have never read it but it looks quite good, would be interested to know how many people do read it. Just been scanning this months issue and there is a very interesting article about why poker is good for you - aimed at people who say poker is 'just gambling' : http://www.twoplustwo.com/magazine/current/ : read the publishers note...

OT: Anyone heard of the Velib project in Paris? You pay a 1EUR day subscription or a 39EUR year subscription and you can use bicycles located around paris fee of charge. There a 'Velib' stations about every 100m and you just hop on a bike, cycle around a bit and put it back at another station, no idea why they don't do this in london, i think its a really great idea.

Any word on a new unl donkament btw? Found it quite funny the last time.
Btw I might have lost money last month, but it seems I've also gained a bump to vip status on my ipoker site .

I think at most iP sites VIP Level 3 = VIP Level 1 until you start playing 100NL+. At 50NL and below, there isn't really the opportunity to increase the points you earn as you move up levels because the rakes are never really big enough to allow the extra multiplier to kick in. Even at 100NL the benefit is marginal.

Also, the iP points-to-cash schemes are pretty rubbish to be honest. A bit worse (ie less valuable) than Party Points I think.

Ah yeah I'm one level below the last level now (brown I believe), but it really helps I'm earning double the amount of points now, and I've got 1 month left to clear the $600 bonus (39000 points, got around 25000 now, so that shouldn't be too hard).

I do play 100nl though mostly...

Do you fold marginal hands from CO, say QT, if you raised 2-3 hands in a row?
