Default Movie: Closer. Anyone seen it?

I'm trying to get the 104 minutes of my life back that I wasted watching this piece of crap. I almost turned it off about 1/2 way through but my masochistic side won over I guess.

Nominated for academy awards? Must've been a really slow year.

A line on the box says 'Finally, an adult love story'.
My ass. They act like anything but adults in this flick. Miserable people that love drama and act like insecure Jr Highschoolers. Yay.

I can't believe this was from a highly touted stageplay. Ebert and Roeper must've been baked on some good stuff to give this 2 thumbs, way up.

On the plus side, Natalie Portman finally looks old enough to have a drink in a bar in this flick. She's aging very nicely.

It was a 30 minute wonder for me. That's about the point where I turned it off never to return. Luckily all I need back is 30 minutes instead of 104

lol @ getting to Portman last. Was there any other reason to see the movie?

The Owen/Roberts scene makes me laugh, though.

Its almost worth finishing to see the closing scene of Portman walking down the street.

I'm not a huge Portman fan as to me, she used to look like a little kid dressing up in her mom's clothes. I didn't even realize that was her in it.

They also had 2 scenes pretty much identical but with different characters. Basically when the other one wants to know the details about the affairs. Must've made it easier to write to just cut and paste it and change the names.

Not to mention, those scenes were really pathetic and made me not give a crap about anyone in the film. And when you can't pull for anyone in a flick, the flick kinda sucks.

It was like candy for breakfast.

...seemed like a good idea at first, but ultimately gave me heartburn.

I am surprised nobody has come up and defended this movie.
I actually liked it a lot. I thought the interactions were very interesting, some of them very funny, specifically the ones involving Clive Owen. I really liked the scene on the revolving restaurant where Owen tried to get Roberts back, it was great.
I guess I can't judge if the relationships were adult or not, since I am young, but I enjoyed the interactions whether they felt real or not.
