K2s - Unsure on every street
Wynn $4/8 (4 handed)
We've just had like four people leave and are temporarily playing four-handed. All have agreed not to chop. Villain is a thinking LAG who is borderline maniac preflop (he raises frequently from UTG and 3bet my full-table UTG raise with QTo) but plays the big streets well. I have doubts about every single street. Hero is BB with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Preflop: CO folds, Button folds, SB says "you have J4, right?" and limps, Hero raises, SB calls. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. Turn: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls. River: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] SB checks, Hero bets. |

Re: K2s - Unsure on every street
Hmm he's raising Ax/Kx PF, and no guarantee he'd pay them off even if he did hold them, so I don't see value in a river bet.

Re: K2s - Unsure on every street
Preflop doesn't really matter, just don't fold. Flop is good, the turn is good, and the river is bad. There's not much at all he can call with that you beat with the given action.

Re: K2s - Unsure on every street
sorry about any newbie mistake, i'm new to shorthanded
It seems that he is fairly strong pre-flop, this is a live game do you have an y reads on him?!?! usually when someone says something like that and jokes around and he is sincerely joking, he usually has something strong in this kinda of situation so i don't know if i'd raise this since it is not mutli-way and your kicker sucks, i dont know if i'd push the edge pre-flop, but given the raise i like both flop and turn, but i still don't know why you bet the river...?!!? |

Re: K2s - Unsure on every street
preflop is whatever
flop bet good turn bet good river bet is pointless, you know he doesn't have an ace. he isn't calling with K-x, so if he calls, you lose. Just check behind and hope he has a missed draw. |

Re: K2s - Unsure on every street
Okay, sounds like everybody thinks it's okay except the river. I think I feel the same way; the river bet felt weird as I was putting it out there. Standard better-hand-calls/worse-hand-folds reasoning.
I am actually thinking the turn bet may be bad because: (1) I think it's fairly likely I have <50% equity against a hand that won't fold. (2) If I check, I may induce a river bet which is especially desirable if I hit trips or a straight. (3) I may be avoiding getting checkraised. With reason 2, though, I suppose it puts me in a tough spot if I miss. I guess I would fold, because I can't see him having anything worse than my hand except maybe a lone unpaired K (I think he would raise any ace preflop). Results: He called with J4 to win, and I was like, "Oh, I get it now. Clever." |

Yeah I'd check the turn.
