Yegads the volatility in the markets is nuts. I want to sell a bunch of my index funds and get into some stocks that I actually like, but I'm really disturbed about selling out of a fund that's going up at down 2% every few hours!!!

For U.S. investors, realized gains on assests held for at least one year are taxed as long-term capital gains tax. This is currently capped at 15%. Gains on assets held for less than one year are taxed as ordinary income tax which may or may not be higher than 15% depending on your specific tax situation.

i've got $1700 in my spreadbetting account, any ideas what i should have a punt on?

a few suggestions if possible, ill go $500 per pick, if it drops 10% i lose so if it gains 10% i double up.
