Default NL100: odd spot with set of kings on monotone flop

I am still a beginner trying to learn the game.
I felt kind of lost in this spot, comments appreciated.

NL$100 Real Money 6max

effective stacks
MP: $40
Hero: $120
BTN: $202
BB: $98

Hero is CO with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

1 fold
MP calls $1 He was typical loose passive player
1 fold
Hero raises to $5
BTN calls $5 He appeared to be a decent TAG
1fold
BB calls $4 Seemed weak tight
MP calls $4

Flop ($20, 4 players) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
BB checks
MP bets $1
Hero

So how do we continue from here?

yep. You want to protect against diamond draws.

i raise to like 14 -- and i'd get it allin vs. MP (who only has 40) - so if he reraises i push to get him allin.

i'd be a little more careful against the guy w/ 120 stack if he plays back / calls and hits a diamond

What do i want?

aces come put in some money
flushdraws come put in some money while being far behind

You think a pot sized raise does jsut that? I dont. Aces fold and non nut draws will fold as well.

BTW its fairly unlikely for someone to have 2 pair on this board, so I dont see anything that will pay off a big raise.

But again, I am a beginner so waht do i know..

PSB. You can't make money checking and 99 will pay you off, as well as AQd, AK and you have to protect yourself against the FD... BET!

psw

edit: I said bet because I just ignore any $1 bets and do exactly what I would have done if they had checked. How do others respond to this silly bet typically, w/o reads?

Just treat this bet as a check.
