An error in the Sklansky-Chubukob rankings
For those who don't know them, the S-C number is a calculation for each preflop hand to determine what's the maximum stack you can profitably move all-in with in NL hold'em when you're in the $1 SB and there's a $2 BB, everyone else folded, if your opponent saw your cards and played perfectly.
The formula assumes that when you get called and win, you'll win X (your remaining stack after posting the SB) + 3 (the SB + BB), a certain percentage of the time. (at least the one presented in NLHE: T&P by DS and EM does). But this is wrong, because the BB has already put 2, so he'll call X - 1, so for the formula to be correct it should instead calculate that you'll win X+2 when you get called and win. |

Re: An error in the Sklansky-Chubukob rankings
This is correct...I'm not sure of the formula but if it assumes you win the size of your bet in addition to the sb and big blind it think would be incorrect.
However, I assume that is probably not the case and the S&C numbers are probably right? |

Re: An error in the Sklansky-Chubukob rankings
You're right, it should be X+2. I believe the S-C numbers are correct though, just their formula is wrong. If you use X+2 in the formula on page 216, you get the correct answer. They only got the right answer with X+3 by doing the math wrong.
