Limit Draw MTTs on Stars

I don't know when they got added, but Stars now is running a couple of fixed limit 5CD tourneys a day. There's one at 21:30 with a $4.40 buy-in and another one at 7:45 with a $5.50 buy-in.

It really doesn't take much longer than the PL, although it obviously takes longer for eliminations to start. In addition to the blinds, Stars uses antes in these events starting at level 3; it's different playing a limit tournament with both blinds and antes.

I played my first limit MTT at Stars (I've played these at Planet Poker for years) and got 18th/240 for a small cash. I think those of us that play a TAGgish game will do better in these events, since the LAGs don't have the big-bet to terrorize everyone with and the calling stations are more likely to, well, call and they can be value-bet to death.

Stars still has the $11 PL at 13:15, the $5.50 PL at 19:30, and the $22 PL at 22:45. A pretty decent schedule and fingers crossed that USAians can keep playing.

I played 1 limit mtt....TOoo fishy...you almost have to only play pat hands or trips early on....I dont think i will be playing anymore for a while...
Raised with my standard hands and was called by 4 others every time.

Not to be critical, but this complaint reminds me of the people who complain that they get 5 callers when they raise with a strong starting hand in a small stakes holdem game. They are almost always calling you with worse hands and you have an equity edge on the field (often a sizable one). Sometimes they outdraw you and win big pots. The beats are annoying, but good play wins in the long term.

Complaining about getting called by 5 people is a good complaint. Usually when I raise it's to weed out the draws. If that doesn't work then you might as well limp every hand....
