Stars 45k Hand: Flop OESD with 11BB, how to procede?
Villain has been playing a lot of pots, limping or min raising early with a variety of hands and has generally been playing loose but well post flop. Hero should have his typical Rock of Gibraltar image. How do I procede?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t16000 (8 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx UTG+1 (t285333) MP1 (t245956) MP2 (t352165) CO (t228051) Button (t338053) SB (t424155) Hero (t176888) UTG (t88729) Preflop: Hero is BB with 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls t16000, MP1 calls t16000, 3 folds, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: (t61600) A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players) SB checks, Hero checks, UTG+1 bets t32000, MP1 folds, SB folds, Hero ?????? Edited to say: The pot on the flop is actually 70k or so and there are still 50 players left with avg chips at 220k or so. |

Re: Stars 45k Hand: Flop OESD with 11BB, how to procede?
Not sure, it looks like UTG+1 limped with a decent ace and is now trying to see where the table is at. And as I reread your post, with reads on the villain my line of thinking has shifted. I play super-LAG and this is one of my fav moves: no one has shown strength preflop, if Villain can get MP out of the hand (which he did) he's got position on two random hands. Its a fantastically profitable situation. If you've seen him limp / minraise bad hands from the earlier positions as well as late, I say that its a push. If not, I fold and pick a better spot.

Calling (which will mean that I've put nearly 1/3 of my chips in this pot) is out of the question. Fold or push I say.
