Default Re: Possibly a dumb question (thickening the chest)

1) How long have you been lifting?
~3months. Before that, I was pretty much purely a cardio guy (run team in the military, etc).
2) What is your average daily caloric intake and macronutrient breakdown?
3200 calories
286g of protein (from chicken, whey, milk, fish)
61g fat (flaxseed oil, fish oil, 21g of olive oil, the rest from chicken, etc)
350 carbs (whole rolled oats, brown rice, surge, etc)
I eat every 3 hours, with no carbs in my last two meals, and no fat in my first 4.

3) Why don't you post your entire last series of workouts with reps/weights for constructive criticism?
I've done that a couple months ago, bumped the thread a few times, and no one responded which led me to believe it was at least not terrible.

Everything is 3x12 I've never fallen below 8 reps.

Day 1: Chest/Tris
dumbbell flat press (currently at ~50 lbs)
dumbbell incline press (~40 lbs)
flat flyes (~25 lbs)
skull crushers (~40lbs)
single arm overhead extensions (~12 lbs)

Day 2: Back/Bis
Bent over rows (~40 lbs)
single arm bent over rows (~47.5 lbs)
incline dumbbell curls (~25 lbs)
hammer curls (~22.5 lbs)
exercise ball hyperextensions (~25lbs)

Day 3: Legs
Bulgarian squats (~20 (40total) lbs)
Lunges (~15 lbs (30 total)
Stiff legged deadlifts (20/40 lbs)
standing calf raises (45/90 lbs)

Day 4: Sholders / Abs
Seated dumbbell press: (40lbs (80 total)
shrugs (60lbs (120 total)
single arm lateral raises (20)
exercise ball crunches (35)
dumbbell side bends (45)

4) Why don't you use a gym? Using a gym would cause working out to be too much of an effort for me to justify maintaining. I know myself well enough to know that I just wouldn't keep it up.

Yeah, start doing 5x5 or SS.

Try to get to the gym. I personally don't like your diet as much as a zone. I don't buy the P+F/P+C crap at all. But its good enough. Your workout is std beginner fare.

Gym is a pretty big deal. The increased loading makes a big difference.
