Default bobby baldwin pulls rank

Bobby Baldwin was playing in the big game tonight at Bellagio. They were playing Omaha, his opponent bet the river and BB folded. His opponnent showed three cards, and BB asked the dealer to show him the fourth card. The other guy said, I didn't show you four cards, I showed you three. BB said he didn't care, and that he wanted to see the fourth card anyway. While this rule of "show one show both" (or in this case, "show three, show four") has been recently implemented in tournaments, I have never heard of someone in a cash game trying to pull this. Also, the Bellagio has no official rulebook for the cardroom, specifically so they can bend the rules for high-stakes players.

My husband, who deals in the Bellagio poker room, told me this story. BTW, the dealer showed the fourth card. Maybe this is a good reason to go back to having the big game at the Nugget, where they used to play when BB sat in.

If it went down exactly like you said, muck the hand, but I highly doubt it did go down like that.

muck hand = lose job?

pretty sure a dealer would be more concerned with keeping a lucrative dealing job at the bellagio and not pissing off bossman than some unwritten rule

You left out the important detail of whether the guy's hand touched the muck or not.

How has show one show all morphed into meaning the cards so often? It refers to showing one or all players.

Muck that [censored].

But only after pointing out his brother Alec sucks.

edit: or show the fourth card- I really don't care since the dealer's job may or may not hang in the balance. But definitely tell him Alec sucks.

this poll sucks because calling the floor and mucking the card should both occur

I semi-agree-- if I was dealing i would call the floor before either mucking the card or turning it over. I belive that deciding on your own to turn over/not turn over the 4th card is a decision that a dealer cannot make on their own, and I would do whatever the floor says. But if I was BB I would rather have the dealer use the protocol and call the floor than have him give me preferential treatment.
