Rod Beck found dead

I don't believe he had any health ailments and "foul play not suspected."

I will lay 50:1 odds on drugs.

Rod Beck is 21st on the career saves list.

Very sad, he was supposed to be a great guy. This is a pretty cool article about Beck. You can kind of tell that even given how happy-go-lucky he seemed, he had to have been quite lonely.

Yeah, kind of weird he seemed to have such good perspective, but somehow he still managed to end up with major drug issues.

even though beck pitched for the red sox, i always wished the yankees could get a guy like that. baseball needs more guys like rod beck.

I remember a game when he was pitching for the Cubs in the 9th with a 1 run lead and he loaded the bases with 0 outs (I believe it was a single + 2 walks), then struck out the next 3 batters to earn the save and the victory.
