[ QUOTE ]
Ron Kittle - he hit like 50 home runs for our local TripleA team!

[/ QUOTE ]

Kittle anything but obscure....here's some of his teammates:

Mike Squires
Julio Cruz
Jerry Dybzinski
Bill Almon
Greg Luzinski
Ruly Law
Carlton Fisk (not obscure)
Harold Baines (not obscure)
Lamarr Hoyt/Britt Burns/Floyd Bannister/Rich Dotson (starters)
Salome Barojas (closer)

Some other randoms from other teams I didn't grow up a fan of:

Kent Tekulve
Ron Oester
Mike Norris
Carney Lansford
Lance Parrish
Alan Wiggins (RIP)
Bruce Benedict
Manny Trillo
Gary Maddox

OK, enough for now. Back to work.

Tim Teufel

Not obscure, but my friends and I thought it was so great that Steve Sax's last name was so similar to sex.

[/ QUOTE ]

Jim Gott

In German, Gott=God and Teufel=Devil. At one point in their careers, it was pointed out that the Devil was 2-4 with a RBI vs. God for his career.

Teufel finished 2-9 with 2 BB and a homer against Gott, for a .222/.364/.556 line.

I'm old so I'm going back farther than 1980's.

Carroll Hardy.

He's the answer to the old trivia question "who was the only player to ever pinch hit for Ted Williams?"
