Default familiar situation with AK

How often do u guys have a situation like this arise?

2-5nl

You have $300 in front of u

Early position raiser (stack 500) raises to 30. I reraise to 60 with AK. Folded all around. He reraises all in.

What does the percentage of the money in the middle have to be compared to my stack to make this a viable call (consider in this case, the money in the middle $120, is 50% of my now $240 bucks remaining). Limited information on the all in reraiser, but has appeared fairly straightforward in all situations noted so far.

Why the min 3-bet pre?

i agree, min raises suck... why not make it $90-110 and give him a chance to fold preflop (granted not the case in this hand but in many hands it will)

this question has way way way too much to do with the dynamics between you and the player in question.

There are times when you should be happy to get all in with AK.

There are times when you can fold without even blinking.

Yeah it depends

More specifically: This isn't a straightforward pot odds question really ... If villain's PF shove range is AA and KK only, then 1.5:1 pot odds is nowhere near enough. If villain's PF shove range is AA-JJ then your total pot equity is something like 35%. Still not good enough. You'd need to be getting 2:1. If PF shove range for villain is AA-JJ + AQ then your total pot equity jumps almost to 50%, giving you more than the odds you need to call. In a 9-handed cash game against an unknown opponent I would usually fold to a preflop shove if the pot was only laying 1.5:1.

No. of ways villain can have various hands and your approximate percentage against each of them.

AA: 3 6%
KK: 3 30%
QQ: 6 44%
J.J: 6 44%
AQ: 12 72%

But yeah why the min-raise?

Thanks for the response.

As for the min raise- there were a lot of loosish players in the game who I thought might call for $60 with dominated hands like KQ KJs AJ, etc, but might not call for $110.

Is that a good enough reason?

Call or raise more preflop, as played call.
