In the last 10-game stretch they lost some games they should have won (against Colorado especially) had some bad defense and other mistakes and they really needed to win more games and have a 3-game lead in the NL West. But that said, it is September 5 and the D-backs have a slim 1-game lead in the NL west over the Padres, 4-games over the Dodgers. At 78-63 only the Mets have a better record in the NL. The D-Backs have tomorrow off to catch their breath and then plunge into the final run of the last 21 games. Tonights win was big and if they can feed off that and Webb pitches better they just might pull off the improbable and win the NL West. Go D-Backs. -Zeno

Micah Owings starts today and if he pitches half way decent and also hits 2 home runs in the game (he has 4 already this season and a BA of .294) the D-Backs will roll. In first place until Tuesday Bitches!!!! Micah accounted for only one homer, but unfortunately he accounted for it pitching a seven run inning. But the gutty, clutch, pythag busting DBacks come through again again proving that character beats stats, every time
 And on Tuesday, the Dodgers and Padres start a series guaranteed to put the DBacks farther in front of either the WildCard or Division races.
